CFP: WISH Mentoring and Scholarship Program

Posted on 09:23 by Unknown
============================================

CFP: Mentoring program at the
Workshop on Interactive Systems for Healthcare (WISH)
April 10-11, 2010
Atlanta, GA USA
============================================

The Workshop on Interactive Systems in Healthcare (WISH) will take place April 10th and 11th, 2010 collocated with the ACM CHI 2010 Conference on Human Factors and Computing Systems, at the CHI conference site, the Hyatt Regency in Atlanta, Georgia, USA. This event is designed to foster conversation and bridge communities and will include specialists in biomedical informatics, nursing informatics, medical sociology, human-computer interaction, and related fields.

WISH is pleased to offer a mentoring program for students and other junior researchers joining the fields of HCI, health, wellness, and biomedical informatics. This program will match up participants with members of the steering committee for one on one mentoring as well as inclusion of these participants in some invite-only events for mentors and mentees starting the evening of April 10 and moving through the open WISH event on April 11. Finally, we will be able to offer scholarships for partial travel and registration support for those accepted to the program. To apply, please email Desney Tan (desney@microsoft.com) and Gillian Hayes (gillianrh@ics.uci.edu) by February 15th, 2010 with your CV, the name of your supervisor or advisor, and what kind of financial support you might need. Some preference will be given to authors of accepted papers for WISH, but the program will be open to anyone, and we strongly encourage applicants who are not presenting at WISH.

Please forward this on to other interested people, both within and outside of the CHI community.

Best,

Desney and Gillian
