I would like to invite you to the first General Assembly Meeting of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR CRISIS RESPONSE AND MANAGEMENT:

1. Presentation of the present Board of Directors
2. Approval of requested Association memberships
3. Short presentation on the House rules concerning the Board of Directors Election and Vote on these rules
4. Announcement of the set-up of the 2009 Election Committee
5. Election of the new Board of Directors
6. Further communications on the Association


CALL FOR CANDIDATES FOR THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS:

One of the main points on the agenda of the General Assembly meeting is the election of a new Board of Directors. The election committee hereby calls upon candidates for the Board of Directors positions to register themselves by filling in the Board of Directors Candidate Registration Form that can be found on the www.iscram.org website as from April 20th, 2009. Eligible candidates must be registered members of the Association. For registration as a member of the International Association for the Study of Information Systems for Crisis Response And Management, see the Membership Registration Form on www.iscram.org, also availables from April 20th 2009.

Registered ISCRAM members can register as candidate for the board until May 4th, 24:00 CET.

The 1st Board of Directors of the INTERNATIONAL ASSOCIATION FOR THE STUDY OF INFORMATION SYSTEMS FOR CRISIS RESPONSE AND MANAGEMENT consists of the following members, appointed by default for the purpose of founding the association and preparing these elections:

Dr. Bartel Van de Walle (chair), drs. Paul Burghardt, ir. Benny Carle, Dr. Frank Friedrich, Dr. Suzanne Jul (vice chair), Dr. Jonas Landgren, Dr. Kees Nieuwenhuis, and Dr. Murray Turoff.

All members of the present Board of Directors will step down but may stand for re-election provided they apply by May 4th. There will in total be 8 electable positions for the new Board. More information, such as the Articles of the Association, the election procedure and registration forms can be found on www.iscram.org as from April 20th 2009 .
